Shocking: Government of India Banned 59 Chinese Apps amid LAC Standoff
The worsening tension with China along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The Indian government on Monday took a remarkable step and decided to ban 59 Chinese apps intriguing data and those with privacy issues. The government has decided to refuse the usage of these apps both in mobile and non-mobile Internet-enabled devices.
The list of 59 mobile Chinese apps includes TikTok, SHAREit, US Browser, Baidu map, Helo, Mi Community, Club Factory, WeChat, UC News, Weibo, Xender, Meitu, CamScanner, and Clean Master – Cheetah Mobile.

The order issued by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) mentioned that the 59 apps banned by the Government of India ” The Ministry of Information Technology, invoking it’s power under section 69A of the Information Technology Act read with the relevant provisions of the Information Technology (Procedure and Safeguards for Blocking of Access of Information by Public) Rules 2009 and in view of the emergent nature of threats has decided to block 59 apps since in view of the information available they engaged in activities which are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defense of India, the security of the state and public order ”. The Press also says that the step to ban these Chinese apps move will “safeguard the interests of crores of Indian mobile and internet users”. The 59 Chinese apps banned by the Indian Government are:
